Winston-Salem
Nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in North Carolina, USA (see map) Winston-Salem is approximately halfway between Wasington, DC and Atlanta. With a population of 170,000 in the city limits and approximately 1 million within a 30 mile radius, the city combines the conveniences of a city with the charms of a small Southern town. Tracing its roots to Moravian settlers in 1753, the city is transforming itself from a tobacco and textile town to a center for technology and arts and offers “a little bit of everything” for everybody. |
