New lighting is being developed by Physics Professor Dave Carroll and his students at the Nanotech Center. The new lighting is based on a technology invented by Dr. Carroll. It is a fipel device, which stands for "Field-induced polymer electroluminescent" and has advantages over older technology in that it is more efficient, environmentally
