Featured in Media

New lighting is being developed by Physics Professor Dave Carroll and his students at the Nanotech Center. The new lighting is based on a technology invented by Dr. Carroll. It is a fipel device, which stands for "Field-induced polymer electroluminescent" and has advantages over older technology in that it is more efficient, environmentally friendly, and are made of plastic so they won't break like glass when they are dropped.
