ABSTRACT

The field of optical imaging is undergoing significant paradigm shifts, driven by recent developments in both theory and hardware. Whereas the optics and sensor technology were previously optimized independently of the subsequent image processing tasks, novel systems emphasize an integrated approach where the sensor, optical system and computational algorithms are jointly optimized to the task at hand. In this talk, I will describe several computational and integrating imaging approaches to produce imaging systems capable of exploiting sub-pixel displacement, phase, polarization, dynamic range, and wavelength diversity for high definition imaging.
